As students progress through high school, tests, assignments, and homework become more and more challenging. Structure and guidance are often necessary to perform as best as we can.
The Study Lounge was introduced to provide students with a welcoming, supportive environment where students can prepare for tests and work on assignments. An RRLS learning specialist will be available to answer any questions students may have and to provide time management and organizational strategies. Parents will have peace of mind knowing their children are in a safe environment and completing their studies, while students have a place they can quietly work, focus, and relax. Snacks are included.
The Study Lounge unlimited membership allows students to attend the Lounge as often as they would like. Memberships are also available in 12-day, 8-day, and 4-day packs.
The Study Lounge Details
- The presence of a teacher at all times to answer or explain any questions or concepts
- Some teaching of executive functioning and test-taking skills, such as planning, time management, organization and strategizing; these skills increase students’ personal accountability
- Supplies and resources, i.e. computers, graphic organizers, cue cards, highlighters, sticky notes, and whiteboards
- Snacks and tea
- A quiet, relaxed, work-friendly atmosphere
