What do you teach?
I teach junior, intermediate, and senior students with a focus on improving written expression, reading comprehension, spelling, executive functioning, math, typing, and cursive skills.
Why did you become a teacher?
I have always enjoyed helping fellow classmates, and was a member of the English and Math tutoring teams in high school and the Education Club at Western.
How would your students describe you?
I hope my students feel I am a patient, kind, caring, and sincere person who wants the best for each of them.
What’s your favourite challenge to help students overcome?
The best part of my day is when a student meets a goal they thought they never would. I also enjoy seeing eyes light up when a difficult math concept is understood.
What’s your favourite thing about working at RRLS?
I love creating personal lessons every day to help each student achieve their goals and reach their full potential. I also feel truly blessed to work with colleagues who are some of the most wonderful people I know.
What’s your favourite way to spend an afternoon?
While I wish my afternoons included reading a book or watching The Sound of Music for the nth time or an interesting historical drama or comedy, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I also enjoy planning travel to places where I can continue to learn and grow from different cultures.
