What do you teach?
I’m a primary-junior teacher who also has a lot of experience working with students at the intermediate level, specifically in literacy and math. I also have a background in teaching music.

Why did you become a teacher?
I realized at a young age that a teacher can make or break a learning experience for a student. I became a teacher because I believe every student deserves access to education that will allow them to accomplish all their goals in life.

How would your students describe you?
My students would describe me as funny and energetic, and committed to keeping lessons engaging and fun.

What’s your favourite challenge to help students overcome?
I love helping students gain confidence when they find a way to succeed at a previously challenging task.

What’s your favourite thing about working at RRLS?
My favourite part about working at RRLS is how genuinely supportive and collaborative the team is. Not only does this make work more efficient and fun; it also sets a great example for the students.

What’s your favourite way to spend an afternoon?
A perfect afternoon for me would be spent outdoors with friends, exploring the city, or playing music. If the weather doesn’t cooperate (or if there’s a global pandemic), you can find me inside cooking and listening to CBC radio.
