What do you teach?
I am a Learning Specialist for Primary, Junior, Intermediate and Senior. I love teaching literacy, drama, and math!
Why did you become a teacher?
I became a teacher because I felt like I had an innate ability to build rapport with young folks. I cherish witnessing and fostering those lightbulb moments!
How would your students describe you?
My students would describe me as outgoing and funny but also calm, cool and collected when I need to be. They would also say that I try to integrate arts-based learning wherever I can!
What’s your favourite challenge to help students overcome?
My favourite challenge is helping students harness their confidence. If we can find what the antecedent is to a specific behaviour or lack of confidence, we can work together to improve upon it and set that student up for success.
What’s your favourite thing about working at RRLS?
My favourite thing about working at RRLS is the sense of community that has been built within the team. There is a willingness to collaborate, inspire and support, which is directly reflected in the work we do with our students.
What’s your favourite way to spend an afternoon?
My favourite way to spend an afternoon is cuddling on the couch with my dog Bruce (he’s a 9 year old rescue from Texas!). I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family :).
