Welcome to Ruth Rumack's Learning Space

Thank you for visiting my website. As you browse through our online "learning rooms" you'll discover the scope of the learning solutions we address in our one-on-one tutoring sessions.

First, let me share some insights on my own personal commitment to student learning and the power of nurturing.

Ruth Rumack, Founder Ruth Rumack's Learning Space.

“ I believe that the power to master a particular learning concern, or to motivate a student to succeed to the measure of their full potential, starts by acknowledging the special individuality
of the student.”

Tutoring is my passion . I have been a professional, full-time tutor for nearly ten years, and have developed my program and unique method of teaching by working primarily one-on-one with students, or in very small groups.

I have watched students respond to the support and encouragement only available in a true tutoring environment. I've seen shy learners bloom, helped uncertain learners find a solid footing for lifelong personal growth, and guided gifted minds to their most productive path of learning.

Every student discovers their own power of learning in his or her own unique way. The role of the tutor is to help the student understand how to unlock the learning power within and apply it in a manner that will be both productive and beneficial.

As a tutoring specialist, I believe the role of nurturer is one of the most rewarding opportunities in the teaching profession. This is why I have chosen to focus exclusively on tutoring as my practice.

My credentials in Brief

I completed my Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology through York University.

Upon graduation I established my own tutoring business. At the same time, I held the position of After School Program Director and Camp Director at The Jewish Community Centre in downtown Toronto.

As an educator I have a particular interest in working with students of all ages who experience reading disabilities, ADD/ADHD, as well as other learning differences. I am a member of the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario and I regularly attend learning conferences to ensure that I am at the leading edge of new research and new methodologies. I have also pursued my own research in hopes of finding the best programs and solutions for my students.

My commitment to learning

Ruth Rumack's Learning Space strives to offer a special learning safe zone for students of all ages, at all stages of their personal learning curve. It's a place where the students feel comfortable asking the questions they won't ask anywhere else, where they have the courage to take the risks so necessary in the journey to their full learning potential.

As their tutor/teacher, I continually draw upon my Performing Arts background to bring the joy of experiential creativity to all our sessions.

Please explore this site to get a deeper understanding of our unique approach to one-on-one tutoring. We'd be happy to discuss your child's – or your own – learning goals on a personal basis. Call me at 416-925-1225 for more information.
